Clay County 4-H

Clay County 4-H Youth Leadership Citizenship Team members showcased their talents and dedication during Youth Day at the Clay County Fair!
Twenty-one youth leaders partnered with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum to present an interactive program, “4-H Reel into Arkansas Sport Fishing.”
Rector High School students Landen Palmer and Collin Jetton, members of the school’s competitive Bass Tournament Team, brought their boat to the fairgrounds and shared their passion for fishing and the excitement of tournaments. Their stories inspired many young people to explore fishing as both a hobby and a sport.
Other 4-H members offered hands-on learning in:
Fishing Tackle & Equipment Identification
Knot-Tying
Fish Identification & Habitat
Baitcasting
One of the popular activities let kids test their casting skills by aiming into five-foot target rings—just like an official 4-H O-Rama competition!
The day was filled with learning, laughter, and community spirit as local youth gained new skills and made memories together.
Clay County 4-H is proud of these leaders for their commitment to service and outdoor education!
